Explore the Northern Lights with the return of "Áróra," a digital dome planetarium experience, starting November 1, 2024. This cinematic journey transports guests across Icelandic landscapes and into space to uncover the mysteries of these lights.

Created by renowned Icelandic scientists, writers, photographers, and musicians, this award-winning show offers more than just a visual spectacle. It delves into how auroras have been observed on other planets and moons in our galaxy.

For those who recently witnessed the aurora in South Carolina, "Áróra" provides an opportunity to revisit that experience while exploring its origins. The show also examines how different cultures have woven the Northern Lights into their folklore and mythology. Visitors can enjoy this immersive experience from the State Museum's comfort as they watch the dance of lights over Iceland's winter skies. Showtimes are available through Sunday, November 3.

The South Carolina State Museum encourages visitors to stay informed about exhibits, shows, and events through its monthly e-newsletter tailored to individual interests.
