Richland County School District One recently issued the following announcement.
Prisma Health was recently honored with the Champions for Public Education Award, an award presented by the South Carolina School Boards Association to those whose support of and contributions to public education has significantly benefited the entire school district or public schools statewide.
Prisma Health received this award for our partnership with Richland County School District One in managing the COVID-19 pandemic during the 2020-2021 school year. Our partnership included COVID testing for school district students, employees and parents where accessible and a dedicated COVID-19 vaccination clinic for school district employees. This work is in addition to our ongoing support of the school district throughout the year, which includes the distribution of yearly flu shots and operating school-based telehealth clinics.
"Without the support of Prisma Health, our school district would have had to potentially delay our return to school. Prisma Health ensured that our school district was best positioned to return equipped with relevant information, strategies and applications guaranteeing we returned and opened most effectively and safely," Richland One said in their nomination.
We are thankful for great partners like Richland One who are dedicated to the health and safety of their community, and congratulate our team members who work to support our public schools!
