University of South Carolina freshman infielder Will Craddock has been named the Southeastern Conference’s Co-Freshman of the Week, according to an announcement from the league on Monday, February 23.

Craddock recorded eight hits in 15 at-bats, scored nine runs, hit two doubles and a triple, had two home runs, drew two walks, and collected six RBIs during four wins for the Gamecocks last week. In a game against Gardner-Webb on Wednesday, he went 3-for-3 and reached base safely in all five plate appearances. On Saturday against Navy, Craddock led off with a home run and later added a two-run double, totaling four RBIs for that game. He also started Sunday’s win over Air Force with another leadoff home run and contributed a double in the team’s 4-2 victory.

Other weekly SEC baseball honors included Vanderbilt’s Braden Holcomb as Player of the Week and Arkansas’ Colin Fisher as Pitcher of the Week. Craddock shared Freshman of the Week recognition with Auburn’s Ethin Bingaman.

The Gamecocks are scheduled to play Queens at Founders Park this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
