The University of South Carolina announced on Feb. 24 a wide range of summer camps for children and teenagers in 2026, covering interests from performing arts and sports to STEM fields.

These programs aim to provide educational and recreational opportunities for students during the summer months. The camps are designed for various age groups, offering experiences that include hands-on learning, skill development, and exposure to university life.

Among the offerings is the Carolina Master Scholars Adventure Series, which features weeklong interactive camps for students in grades six through twelve. Participants can explore topics such as sports marketing, mobile gaming, pharmacy, nursing, and more while experiencing student life at USC. The Summer Seniors program targets rising high school seniors who will be first-generation college students, providing sessions on college admissions and academic preparation with two sessions scheduled in July.

Specialized camps include pharmacy and nursing experiences where high schoolers can learn about health care careers through practical activities like diabetic monitoring and patient care simulations. Additional STEM opportunities are available through VEX Robotics camp and ultrasound training at the School of Medicine. Journalism enthusiasts can attend the Carolina Journalism Institute or Sports Journalism Institute to develop multimedia skills under the guidance of faculty and media professionals.

For those interested in the arts, USC offers drama conservatory programs, orchestral string instruction, musical theater intensives led by faculty and Broadway professionals, dance intensives requiring auditions, jazz workshops, and technical theater camps focusing on props and makeup. Athletic options include baseball skills clinics, equestrian riding camps using collegiate formats, football training with university coaches including Shane Beamer Football Camp sessions throughout June, soccer day camps for various ages led by Gamecock staff, swimming technique clinics with performance coaching, softball drills for younger children, volleyball skill-building sessions across multiple dates in July as well as team-focused events.

The university encourages families to review specific session dates and application deadlines for each camp. More information is available by contacting relevant departments or emailing ciccji@sc.edu.
