County Councilwoman Gretchen Barron will hold a virtual town hall meeting Monday, Nov. 14 to discuss map amendment requests for four Northeast Richland properties.

Barron, who represents District 7, will team up with planning staff and developers to advise residents on the rezoning requests. The virtual meeting is set for 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

To receive login credentials for the meeting, email townhall@richlandcountysc.gov or call 803-766-5678. The meeting will also stream live via the County’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Rezoning requests up for discussion include:

  • 9200 Wilson Blvd. – Developers are asking to rezone 8.63 acres from rural to neighborhood commercial to accommodate commercial and service use.
  • 10013 Wilson Blvd. – Developers seek to rezone 49.98 acres from rural to residential, multi-family-medium density.
  • Wilson Boulevard – Near I-77, the request asks the County to rezone 55.2 acres from commercial/industrial to mixed use to allow for both single-family and multi-family residential use.
  • 2630 Clemson Road – Developers seek to rezone 3.98 acres from residential, single family-medium density to general commercial.

Residents may submit questions by 5 p.m. Nov. 14 by emailing townhall@richlandcountysc.gov or calling 803-766-5678.

In order for Richland County Council to enact a rezoning request, an ordinance amending the official zoning map must pass three readings by majority vote.
