U.S. Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina used his social media platform in late January 2026 to highlight legislative actions and economic developments relevant to his state.

On January 27, Scott shared a post linking to an external site without additional commentary (https://t.co/QxtwunHwSe).

Later that day, he addressed his recent vote on the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act. In a tweet dated January 27, 2026, Scott stated: “I just voted YES on the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act, legislation I’ve long supported and cosponsored so pregnant and parenting students know their rights as they pursue an education. Senate Democrats chose to block it, denying students basic access to information and support”.

The following afternoon, Scott commented on economic progress in South Carolina. On January 28, 2026, he wrote: “It’s clear that South Carolina is where businesses want to grow and invest! As a North Charleston native, I’m proud to see the Lowcountry’s hard work, innovation, and opportunity reflected in the @MilkenInstitute’s Best-Performing Cities ranking.”

Scott represents South Carolina in the U.S. Senate with a focus on economic development, education policy, health care issues, and workforce development (official website). He has served on several Senate committees related to banking, finance, small business, health care, labor and pensions (official website). Prior to his tenure in the Senate, Scott was active in local government and entrepreneurship; he previously served on the Charleston County Council and in the South Carolina House of Representatives (official website). Among his legislative initiatives is the Opportunity Zones program enacted in 2017 aimed at fostering investment in economically challenged communities (official website).

In addition to his legislative activities, Scott provides constituent services such as assistance with federal agencies for residents of South Carolina through multiple offices across the state (official website).
