Senator Tim Scott has recently highlighted issues related to education, spirituality, and support for teachers in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On September 12, 2025, Scott posted about Ike Bullard, an 81-year-old gym teacher at Gregg Middle School. In his message, Scott stated: “At 81 years young, Ike Bullard is continuing to invest in the next generation as a gym teacher at Gregg Middle School. Calling his work a ‘blessing’ and a ‘calling,’ Ike’s life represents what it means to live with purpose and passion! #SCSweetTea https://t.co/9QVawIQmLm”.
The following day, on September 13, 2025, Scott referenced Erika Kirk in a post that addressed the spiritual dimension of national challenges. He wrote: “‘Our battle is not simply a political one. Above all, it is spiritual.’ @MrsErikaKirk is right. Our nation is in deep need of prayer. May God be near to the Kirk family and to our country.”
Later on September 13, Scott discussed new financial relief for educators. He posted: “ICYMI: Teachers and coaches often reach into their own pockets to support their students. Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cut, they’ll now get a tax break for those instruction-related expenses. A well-earned win for those who go the extra mile! https://t.co/BozXpEbOVD”. The Working Families Tax Cut provides tax relief measures that allow teachers and coaches to deduct certain out-of-pocket expenses related to classroom instruction from their taxable income.
Scott serves as U.S. Senator representing South Carolina and frequently addresses topics such as education policy and community values through his social media platforms.
