Senator Tim Scott, representing South Carolina, recently shared updates on his social media account regarding both national defense manufacturing and ongoing government funding issues.
On November 1, 2025, Senator Scott posted about his visit to a key defense facility in Greenville. He wrote, “.@LockheedMartin Greenville is home to the F-16 Fighting Falcon production line. It was great to go behind the scenes and hear from the dedicated employees who play a vital role in our national security.” The following day, he also posted a related link: “https://t.co/wKjgH1eJ4F”.
In another post dated November 2, 2025, Senator Scott addressed concerns about federal nutrition assistance during a government shutdown. He stated, “More than half a million South Carolinians can’t access SNAP benefits as of today because Democrats are playing political games. I implore just 5 more Democrats to vote to reopen the government for the sake of families trying to feed their kids.”
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides food-purchasing assistance for low- and no-income people in the United States. During government shutdowns that disrupt appropriations, access to these benefits can be temporarily halted until new funding measures are approved by Congress.
Lockheed Martin’s Greenville facility is known for its assembly and maintenance of military aircraft such as the F-16 Fighting Falcon—a multirole fighter jet used by air forces around the world.
