Tim Scott, U.S. Senator representing South Carolina and member of the Senate Banking Committee, recently shared updates on his official Twitter account regarding housing policy and national security engagements in Washington, D.C.
On September 9, 2025, Scott wrote about participating in a discussion with Secretary Turner at a federal event: “I was honored to join my friend @SecretaryTurner for a discussion on housing priorities, including my ROAD to Housing Act, at the @HUDgov 2025 Innovative Housing Showcase.
My @BankingGOP colleagues and I are committed to ensuring homeownership is within reach for all Americans.” The ROAD to Housing Act is legislation introduced by Scott aimed at improving access to affordable housing.
Later that day, he posted about meeting service members from South Carolina: “Proud to meet with members of the @SCNationalGuard in Washington, D.C. to thank them for their service. Their work is vital to restoring order and safeguarding our nation’s capital.”
On September 10, 2025, Scott commented further on his working relationship with Secretary Turner: “.@SecretaryTurner is an exceptional member of @POTUS’ cabinet and works hard each day to help hardworking families achieve the American Dream. I’m with him 100% (except when it comes to America’s Team.) “
The HUD Innovative Housing Showcase is an annual event hosted by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development designed to highlight new technologies and policies aimed at increasing affordable housing options nationwide. Senator Scott’s involvement reflects ongoing legislative efforts within Congress focused on expanding homeownership opportunities through targeted reforms such as those proposed in the ROAD to Housing Act.
