Senator Tim Scott marked the 24th anniversary of September 11, led a Senate Banking Committee hearing on deposit insurance, and recognized a South Carolina honoree for adoption advocacy in a series of posts published on September 11 and 12, 2025.
On September 11, Senator Scott posted, “On the 24th anniversary of 9/11, we honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost and the heroes whose bravery and selflessness showed the world the American spirit. We will never forget.”
Later that day, he highlighted his role as committee chairman: “As Chairman of @BankingGOP, I led a hearing on deposit insurance and how we can best protect families, workers, and small businesses in South Carolina and across the country.”
On September 12, Scott turned attention to child welfare efforts: “The @CCAInstitute honors those making extraordinary contributions to adoption, foster care, and child welfare, and this year, Emily Barrett has been selected as the SC Angels in Adoption honoree. Thank you, Emily, for your dedication to finding permanent, safe, and loving homes”.
Senator Tim Scott serves as Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee’s Republican members. The annual commemoration of September 11 recognizes nearly three thousand victims who died during terrorist attacks in New York City; ceremonies are held nationwide each year. The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) annually honors individuals through its Angels in Adoption program for their work supporting children in need of permanent families.
