South Carolina senior Ta’Niya Latson has been named to the 2026 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Midseason Top 10, as announced by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in partnership with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). This marks the third consecutive season that Latson has appeared on the midseason list for this award, which honors the top shooting guard in women’s college basketball.

Latson, who was selected as an AP Preseason All-American, is featured on every national player of the year watch list for this season. She currently ranks 15th in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) with an average of 15.2 points per game and holds seventh place in field goal percentage at 49.3 percent. Her three-point shooting stands at a career-high 39.2 percent. This season is her most efficient yet, averaging 1.05 points per possession and 1.18 points per shot attempt.

She also contributes significantly in other areas: Latson averages 3.7 assists per game, ranking her 15th in the SEC and contributing an additional 8.4 points per game to South Carolina’s offense. Combined with her scoring, she is involved in over a quarter of her team’s offensive output—26.4 percent overall. She ranks fifth in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.24, eighth in free throw percentage at .810, and is tied for fifteenth with an average of 1.75 steals per game.

The Midseason Top 10 will be reduced to five players in mid-March; these finalists will then be presented to Ann Meyers Drysdale and a selection committee from the Hall of Fame later that month to determine a winner. The selection committees include media members, head coaches, sports information directors, and Hall of Famers.

“Fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting in both of the remaining rounds starting on Fri., Feb. 6, at hoophallawards.com,” according to organizers. “The Fan Vote will count as one committee vote during the finalist selection process.”

The recipient of this year’s Ann Meyers Drysdale Award will be announced alongside winners of four other positional awards: Nancy Lieberman Award (Point Guard), Cheryl Miller Award (Small Forward), Katrina McClain Award (Power Forward), and Lisa Leslie Award (Center). The presentation date has not yet been determined.

South Carolina’s women’s basketball team is scheduled for two home games this week: against Mississippi State on Thursday, February 5th and Tennessee on Sunday, February 8th at Colonial Life Arena.
