A federal grand jury has indicted Jack Keegan Davis, a 21-year-old from Columbus, Ohio, on charges including coercion and enticement of minors, production, distribution, and possession of child pornography, as well as cyberstalking. The indictment alleges that between August 2022 and October 2024, Davis used multiple social media platforms to impersonate a minor. He allegedly interacted with minors to persuade them into producing child sexual abuse material.
The allegations claim Davis possessed and distributed the material to other minors, including classmates of one victim. Furthermore, he is accused of using the content to harass and threaten at least one victim and their family despite a restraining order being in place.
Davis reportedly made threats against a minor's life and their family with statements such as: “Im going to kill [Victim] and [Victim’s] family,” “[Victim] ur ded,” among others. He also shared the victim's home address and expressed intentions for revenge.
FBI agents arrested Davis in Ohio where he was detained following a bond hearing. Subsequently transported by U.S. Marshals to South Carolina, he appeared before United States Magistrate Judge Paige J. Gossett in Columbia. United States District Judge Joseph F. Anderson will oversee the case proceedings.
Davis faces significant legal penalties including a mandatory minimum of 15 years imprisonment for producing child pornography and potentially life imprisonment for coercion charges. Additional consequences may include fines up to $250,000, restitution payments, assessments totaling $5,000, lifetime supervision by the U.S. Probation Office after any prison term served, and possible sex offender registry requirements.
This case involved investigations by several law enforcement agencies including the FBI Columbia Field Office alongside sheriff offices in Kershaw County (South Carolina) and Franklin County (Ohio), with assistance from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio.
U.S. Attorneys Elliott B. Daniels and Ariyana N. Gore are leading the prosecution efforts in this matter.
U.S Attorney Adair F Boroughs emphasized that all charges are currently accusations only; defendants remain presumed innocent until proven guilty through due process.
