U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) has joined Larry Kudlow on Fox Business to address the ongoing illegal immigration crisis. During the interview, Senator Scott emphasized that over a million people have crossed into the United States illegally since October 2023 and called on President Biden to enforce the law and secure the border.

Senator Scott expressed concern over the high number of individuals being allowed into the country, stating, "85% of them at least let into our country. Why is that happening? It’s not because the president cannot act. Under President Trump, we had a closed, secure border by and large. Under Joe Biden, he wants an open, porous southern border because they want more voters. They are not trying to protect the American people. They are simply letting the greatest invasion in history, by the time we get to the election, 10 million illegal immigrants crossing our southern border for one reason: it’s what they want."

Furthermore, Senator Scott criticized President Biden's decision to open the border and reverse policies put in place to protect Americans, saying, "Joe Biden could have closed the border or, frankly, kept the border closed when he came into office. He actually used a pen and paper to reverse the decision of protecting Americans from fentanyl, from the cartels, from sleeper cells and from 10 million people – we don’t know where they are, we don’t know what they want, but they’re not here just because they want jobs, not all of them."

Addressing the Senate border legislation, Senator Scott argued against allowing 1.8 million individuals into the country illegally and codifying catch and release into the law. He also expressed concerns about the impact on American workers, stating, "We should not allow people into our country and give them work permits when it will only stifle opportunities for Americans who today are working paycheck to paycheck."

In terms of supporting Border Patrol, Senator Scott proposed reallocating resources from the 87,000 new IRS agents to the Border Patrol. He suggested that $42 billion of those resources be given to the Border Patrol agents to hire more personnel, improve overtime, and enhance their quality of life while protecting America's border.

Senator Scott's appearance on Kudlow on Fox Business reflects the growing concern over the illegal immigration crisis and the need for action to secure the border. With over a million people crossing into the United States illegally since October 2023, there is a pressing need for President Biden to enforce the law and protect the American people. The senator's call for redirecting resources to support Border Patrol highlights the importance of prioritizing border security and addressing the ongoing challenges posed by illegal immigration.
