WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.), co-chair of the Congressional School Choice Caucus, hosted a gathering of school choice stakeholders at the United States Capitol on Thursday evening. The event, held in celebration of National School Choice Week, brought together over one hundred attendees, including students, parents, and leaders of the school choice movement.

In his opening remarks, Senator Scott shared his personal experience growing up in poverty and the challenges his mother faced in finding the right school for him. He emphasized the importance of school choice in providing children with the opportunity to receive a quality education. Senator Scott stated, "Today, because of so many people in this room, I get to stand on your shoulders and advocate for kids I will never meet. Those kids will shape this nation because they had parents who were able to find the right school for their kids, and that is the right future for our nation. I’m happy to be a conduit for that greatness to manifest on the national scene."

Senator Scott was joined by fellow members of the School Choice Caucus, including Senators John Boozman (R-Ark.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), Katie Britt (R-Ala.), John Cornyn (R-Texas), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.). Their presence at the event demonstrated their commitment to expanding school choice options and ensuring that every child has access to a quality education.

National School Choice Week is an annual event that aims to raise awareness about the importance of educational options and empower parents to make the best choices for their children's education. Senator Scott has been actively involved in promoting school choice and has fought to provide all Americans with access to a quality education.

The event at the United States Capitol was just one of the many initiatives Senator Scott has undertaken during National School Choice Week. Through his efforts, he seeks to highlight the success stories of students who have benefited from school choice programs and advocate for policies that support educational freedom.

As the evening concluded, Senator Scott expressed his gratitude to all the attendees and their dedication to the school choice movement. He stated, "I am inspired by the passion and commitment of everyone in this room. Together, we can continue to champion the cause of school choice and ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive."

Senator Scott's unwavering support for school choice and his efforts to provide educational opportunities for all children reflect his commitment to empowering families and improving the education system. During National School Choice Week and beyond, he will continue to advocate for policies that prioritize the needs of students and give parents the freedom to choose the best educational path for their children.

In the words of Senator Scott, "Those kids will shape this nation because they had parents who were able to find the right school for their kids, and that is the right future for our nation."
