Nominating Committee Announces Slate Of New Directors

The Lexington Chamber’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the following Chamber shareholders have been nominated for a three-year term on the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Their initial term will expire in June 2025.

As authorized in the Chamber’s Bylaws, a Nominating Committee was formed. The Chamber announced that nominations were open and solicited interested candidates for Board member positions. The Nominating Committee met to review the candidates’ qualifications and was especially pleased with the response from Chamber shareholders who wished to become more active in our organization. Each candidate was contacted and expressed their interest in serving a three-year term on the Board.

Congratulations to the proposed candidates:

  • Lisa Beebe is the President of Hansen International, Inc. They are a manufacturer of industrial and vehicle hardware with headquarters in Lexington, SC and have been a Chamber shareholder since 2017.  Lisa and her company support several charitable organizations including Cancer of Many Colors, Knights of Columbus and Families Helping Families.  She has advocated on Capitol Hill on the importance of funding for equipment and education in support of Fire Fighters.   
 

  • Angel Mendez is the Fixed Operations Director for Herndon Chevrolet and has been in customer service for 30 years. He is active in the community and has been involved with the Ronald McDonald House and the Lexington Technology Center.  Herndon Chevrolet has been a Chamber shareholder since 2015.
 

  • Pam Modica is the Owner of Lazy Creek Pet Food Center.  Pam has completed a one-year term on the board and is eligible for re-election to a new three-year term.  Pam serves on the Chamber’s Small Business Council and Lazy Creek has been a Chamber shareholder since 2017.  Lazy Creek was honored as the Chamber’s Small Business of the Year in 2020.
 

  • Trey Powell is the Owner/Operator of Mosquito Joe of Lake Murray and Custom Christmas Lights.  Trey has completed an initial three-year term on the board and is eligible for re-election to a second, three-year term.  Trey serves as the board’s Membership Chair.  Mosquito Joe has been a Chamber shareholder since 2015 and Custom Christmas Lights invested in the Chamber a year ago. Mosquito Joe was honored as the Chamber’s Small Business of the Year in 2017.
 

  • Oneal Staples is the Lexington County Market Executive for Ameris Bank. Oneal is the current board chair of Leadership Lexington and is an active volunteer with Mission Lexington and the Scooter Scott organization. He was honored as the Chamber’s young professional of the year in 2021. Ameris Bank has been a Chamber shareholder since 2015.
Additionally, the Nominating Committee has recommended Misty Stathos of State Farm Insurance to serve as the 2022-2023 Board Secretary.

An official ballot will be sent to all shareholders to formally elect the new directors in late June.
