Greater Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center: Workforce Development Through Apprenticeships

15

Greater Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center issued the following announcement on March 9.

The award-winning apprenticeship work happening at MTC is led by Amy Scully and Rebecca Taylor. Amy heads Corporate and Continuing Division and Rebecca leads the college’s Business Solutions team. Together, their areas are showing how Midlands Technical College is a leader on apprenticeships as a workforce development tool.

Recently, the Learning Resources Network (LERN) presented our Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) Division with an international award for success in apprenticeships. During the past two years, CCE has conducted training for more than 573 registered apprentices for employers across our community.

What’s more, MTC created our very own apprenticeship program for employees. The Provost’s Leadership Academy is approved by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) as a Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) and currently has 24 participants.
