MEET KAITLYN ROBERTS

How did you get started in this line of work?

It peaked my interest because I get to help people during the hardest times of their lives

What has been your most satisfying moment in business or what motivates you to go to work every day?

When clients tell me that this is the greatest insurance they’ve ever seen and can’t wait to have their family and friends see how I can help them as well. My motivation is protecting people before something devastating happens, and to also create a life for my family unlike anything we could have ever dreamed of.

How do you define business success or to what do you attribute your success to in this position?

I define success in two ways. One is how well my team does.. when they do well, we all do well. Secondly, my personal success is financial freedom to work where and when I want. I attribute this to my strong work ethic and drive to get things done properly and efficiently.

What key activities would you recommend businesspeople to invest their time in?

Follow up with leads, send thank you cards to new clients, always be looking for referral partners, and remember there is always room to grow. Spend your time perfecting your craft.

Who has been your greatest inspiration?

My Aunt Sarah. She passed away from bladder cancer in 2014. Aunt Sarah was my godmother, travel buddy, and one of my greatest friends. She taught me to never take a single breath for granted. She was a travel agent that saw the world, and when her time came she made sure everyone knew that she loved her life to her full potential. I refuse to let her down and will always strive to be half the woman she was.

What business-related book is a must read?

Green Light by Matthew Machonahey

If you had a magic wand, what is one thing you would change in the world?

Just one thing? Oooof that’s tough!! The negativity would be my top choice. Different political views? Different religions beliefs? Unique parenting tactics? Who cares!!!! Life is hard. Be kind and help your neighbors. That simple gesture of buying the next persons coffee, holding the door, mowing someone’s lawn.. could potentially be life changing to someone else.

If you were to write a book about yourself, how would you name it and why?

I Can’t Make This Sh*t Up : reason being – things have a tendency to happen in my life that I literally cannot explain. Wild things are always happening. Somehow most of the tragedies in my life turn out to be blessings in disguise. Learning to ride out the storms and appreciate the crazy along the way and laugh about the bad times is what life is all about.

Describe what your business does in one – two sentences.

We help families financially through the hardest time of their lives. We pay you when dealing with major diseases and accidents and if you never use your policies, we give you 100% return of premium back.

Explain this business’ mission statement or tagline?

Protecting your family while saving for your future. Everyone needs a proper backup plan – we offer one that is a win win 100% of the time.

Who is your typical client or customer?

Anyone with the possibility of heart problems, cancer, ICU stays, or any type of accident or injury.

What is unique about this business or what is the difference between your company and similar companies?

We give 100% return of premium absolutely tax free. There are NO lifetime limits. Rates never increase. Pricing is based on the younger spouse. We don’t go through payroll so these plans are offered at no cost to the employer.

What made you choose your current location?

After my dad underwent triple bypass surgery years ago, this is where my family moved to. I love being close to my loved ones and living here helps me help everyone they love as well.

Where do you see your business in the next five years?

Tripling the number of agents in my SC territory.

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out as an entrepreneur, what would it be?

Work hard, keep working hard… and then just work a little harder than that.

What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?

I get to choose who to work with and what my business hours are each day.

What piece of advice would you give to someone who wants to become entrepreneurs?

Do something you are passionate about because then it will never feel like work.

What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

Understanding, patient, & organized.
