Greater Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center: Food, Fun and Fellowship was Shared at the December Business Over Breakfast

4aa

Greater Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center issued the following announcement on December 15.

Did you participate in this month’s breakfast? If you did then you met several new contacts and supported our community by giving back to Mission Lexington.

Breakfast by Eggs Up Grill was enjoyed by all, as we made new business contacts and caught up with business colleagues.  Robin Bowers, Executive Director of Mission Lexington, addressed the audience and shared how the organization has been meeting the needs of Lexington County residents in crisis for over 40 years.  They are currently serving 12 families by providing complete housing, furnishings, clothing and other life essentials.  Other services include offering holiday baskets, operating a thrift store, food pantry support, plus so much more.  The Lexington Chamber was happy to meet some of their needs by collecting food pantry items and financial contributions.  The business community graciously donated approximately 430 lbs. of food and over $550 in cash contributions at the December 14th Business Over Breakfast event.

Pictured on the left are Chamber CEO Angelle LaBorde, Mission Lexington’s Executive Director Robin Bowers and Director of Community Relations Anna Smith, and Chamber Chair-Elect Shawn Stinson of Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Thank you to Security Federal Bank (on right) for providing Chamber shareholders with a sweet treat and sponsoring the December breakfast.  Congratulations on your 100th anniversary!
