City of Columbia issued the following announcement on November 22.
The City of Columbia’s Parking Services Division is excited once again to support local businesses and the community by offering complimentary parking over the Thanksgiving Holidays. See details below. Please note that as always the following parking facilities offer free parking after 6pm weekdays and weekends; Taylor, Washington, and Cannon.
On-street meter operations
Wednesday November 24th – enforcement until 6:00pm as usual
FREE CITYWIDE- Thursday November 25th
FREE CITY WIDE Friday November 26, except Five Points, timed parking will be enforced during normal hours (11AM-6PM)
FREE Saturday November 27th, except Five Points which will operate as normal (enforcement on duty 11AM-6PM)
FREE CITYWIDE- Sunday, Nov 28th (per regular ordinance)
All city parking deck facilities
Wednesday November 24nd – normal operations until 5:00pm
WEDNESDAY at 5:00pm gates will be raised (Lincoln, Park, Lady, Sumter)
FREE DECK PARKING Wednesday night, THANKSGIVING DAY and BLACK FRIDAY. The gates will then be lowered for normal operations at 3am, Saturday November 25th (late Friday night).
Saturday November 27th and Sunday November 28th– normal operations as usual at all city parking deck facilities.
FREE parking Friday November 26th & Saturday 27th at the 2221 Devine Street Deck Facility (Five Points area). Upper Level Parking Only.
