Greater Lexington Chamber & Visitors Center issued the following announcement on July 23.

The Lexington District One communications department earned numerous national awards, including the prestigious Golden Achievement Award, for its COVID-19 crisis communication plan. The communication team also won six NSPRA Awards of Excellence and two Awards of Merit for various publications, the Stronger Together webpage, video production and social media efforts.

SCNSPRA, the state division of NSPRA, also awarded the district’s communication team its top honor, the Medallion Award, for COVID-19 crisis communication plan during the 2020–2021 school year. The state chapter is composed of 155 school public relations practitioners, superintendents, and other educational professionals from across the state.
