RICHLAND COUNTY: County Council Adds Hybrid Meeting Option for Residents

22222

Richland County recently issued the following announcement.

As Richland County Council resumes in-person meetings, the County will continue offering residents and staff the opportunity to participate in those meetings virtually, as well.

Council meetings, which had been held remotely during the pandemic, resumed July 13 inside Council Chambers, located on the second floor of the County Administration Building, 2020 Hampton St., Columbia.

Capacity inside the chambers is limited, with seats available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Departmental-level County staff will attend meetings remotely to allow more residents to attend the meetings in person.

To improve accessibility and ensure residents can still take part in meetings regularly, Richland County will meet in a hybrid format, using Zoom to allow for remote participation. To participate virtually, residents should contact the Clerk of Council’s office by 5 p.m. the day before a Council meeting to receive a link to join via Zoom. The Clerk of Council’s office can be reached by:

  • Email: rccoco@richlandcountysc.gov
  • Phone: 803-576-2060
Council encourages residents’ comments during the citizen input and public hearing portions of meetings. To leave a comment to be read during this time, email the Clerk of Council’s office at rccoco@richlandcountysc.gov by 5 p.m. the day before a meeting.

Meetings of Council will continue to stream live on the County’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

Visit the County’s website: www.richlandcountysc.gov, to view the schedule and agendas of upcoming meetings. The next Council meeting is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 20.
