Graduates earn 167 degrees, certificates from Fortis College-Columbia

About 76.6 percent of the 167 degrees and certificates handed out by Fortis College-Columbia in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Columbia conferred 120 certificates and 8 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in medical/clinical assistant. Data shows the school gave out 65 certificates in medical/clinical assistant, followed by 49 certificates in dental assisting/assistant and 39 certificates in heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration maintenance technology/technician.

The college enrolled 382 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
