Graduates earn 323 degrees, certificates from South University-Columbia

About 63.5 percent of the 323 degrees and certificates handed out by South University-Columbia in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private for-profit institution in Columbia conferred 82 bachelor's degrees and 48 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 48 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 33 doctor's degrees in pharmacy and 22 associate's degrees in occupational therapist assistant.

The university enrolled 983 students for 2017-18, including 675 in undergraduate programs and 308 in graduate programs.
