Cost of college went up for all students at Fortis College-Columbia

Tuition and fees rose 0.3 percent for 2018-19 at Fortis College-Columbia, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Carolina students paid $16,285 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year – $50 more than the $16,235 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 92 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 23 students received grants or scholarships totaling $129,124 and 22 students took out student loans totaling more than $188,654.

Including all undergraduates (382), 309 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.4 million, and 250 students took out $1.8 million in federal student loans.
