Cost of college went down for all students at Allen University

Tuition and fees fell 0.8 percent for 2018-19 at Allen University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Carolina students paid $12,940 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $200 less than the $13,140 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 187 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.7 million and 177 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.4 million.

Including all undergraduates (743), 559 students used grants or scholarships totaling $4.8 million, and 533 students took out $4.8 million in federal student loans.
