Cost of college went down for all students at Benedict College

Tuition and fees fell 16.8 percent for 2018-19 at Benedict College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Carolina students paid $16,600 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $3,358 less than the $19,958 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 534 students received grants or scholarships totaling $5.4 million and 527 students took out student loans totaling more than $6.3 million.

Including all undergraduates (2,165), 1,935 students used grants or scholarships totaling $22.4 million, and 1,809 students took out $21.3 million in federal student loans.
