Allen University enrolls 698 undergrads

At Allen University, 90 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 55 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Columbia enrolled 743 students in fall 2018, including 698 in undergraduate and 45 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

64 percent of undergraduates are residents of South Carolina, and 34 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Black or African American (96 percent) and American Indian or Alaska Native (1 percent).
