No. 18 South Carolina is set to begin its spring women’s golf season at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, which will take place from February 1-3 at Palos Verdes Golf Club in California. The Gamecocks are returning for their third consecutive appearance at this tournament, having won the team title in 2024.

The event features a competitive field with nine teams ranked in the Clippd Top-25, including No. 2 Southern Cal and No. 3 Oregon. Other SEC teams participating alongside South Carolina include No. 6 Florida, No. 7 Texas A&M, and No. 11 Texas.

South Carolina’s lineup includes sophomore All-American Eila Galitsky, who is currently ranked No. 13 in the Clippd Player Rankings after securing three top-10 finishes in the fall season, including her second career win at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate last September.

Joining Galitsky are juniors Maylis Lamoure and Vairana Heck, as well as freshmen Laura Nepper and Molly McLean. Lamoure recorded three top-20 finishes during the fall, while Heck added two top-20 results from four starts. McLean participated in the final two fall events for South Carolina, finishing tied for 21st at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel and tied for 18th at the Landfall Tradition.

Senior Mia Sandtorv Lussand will compete as an individual this week and is making her season debut. She has played in 23 events over three seasons with South Carolina, earning SEC All-Freshman honors in 2022-23 and being named Second Team All-SEC in 2023-24 while helping lead the team to its fourth consecutive NCAA Championship appearance that year.

For Sunday’s opening round, South Carolina will be paired with Texas A&M (Aggies), Southern Cal (Trojans), and San Jose State. Molly McLean will be first to tee off from hole one at 1:12 p.m. ET; live scoring will be available throughout the tournament via Clippd.

The full field includes Arizona State (No. 13), Cal, Florida (No.6), Kansas, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon (No.3), Pepperdine (No.9), SMU, San Jose State, South Carolina (No.18), Southern Cal (No.2), Texas (No.11), Texas A&M (No.7), UCLA (No.23), and UNLV.
