No. 18 South Carolina finished 11th in a field of 17 teams at the Moon Golf Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday in Melbourne, Florida. The Gamecocks posted a three-day total score of 888 (+24). In the final round, the team shot a 285 (-3), one of only two under-par team scores recorded during the last 18 holes of the event.

Auburn, ranked No. 8 nationally, secured first place with an overall score of 857 (-7) and shot a tournament-best 6-under par in the final round.

South Carolina’s junior Maylis Lamoure and sophomore All-American Eila Galitsky each carded rounds of 2-under 70 on the final day to lead their team’s performance. Lamoure recorded four birdies but had a double-bogey at the par-4 15th hole. Galitsky made three birdies and just one bogey.

Junior Vairana Heck and Lamoure both finished tied for 25th at four-over-par for the tournament. Heck’s scores were 72-76-72 over three rounds at Suntree Country Club. Senior Mia Sandtorv Lussand ended her week with her best round—a one-over-par 73 that included two birdies—in her first lineup appearance this season.

The Moon Golf Invitational featured strong competition; twelve out of seventeen participating teams were ranked in the top-25 according to the latest Clippd Top-25 Poll.

South Carolina will next host its annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate from March 2–4 at Long Cove Club on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Admission will be free for all spectators, and more information about parking and shuttle services can be found online.

This year marks the fourteenth edition of this event and continues live TV coverage from Golf Channel for all three days of play.
