After evaluating weather forecasts and consulting with the SEC and both participating teams, South Carolina Athletics has confirmed that the women’s basketball game between No. 2/2 South Carolina and No. 5/4 Vanderbilt will proceed as planned on Sunday, January 25, at 3 p.m. The game will take place at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia.

The department stated, “After careful review of multiple weather forecasts over several days and discussions with the SEC and both programs, and based on information available this afternoon, the women’s basketball game between No. 2/2 South Carolina and No. 5/4 Vanderbilt will be played as scheduled on Sun., Jan. 25, at 3 p.m. at Colonial Life Arena. The Athletics Department will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide any additional updates via its official website (GamecocksOnline.com) and its social media channels.”

Fans are encouraged to check local media outlets and the team’s official channels for safety updates regarding travel to the arena due to expected variable weather across the Southeast region. The athletics department advises caution in parking lots and entrances around Colonial Life Arena because precipitation could make some areas slippery, adding that patience may be required if staffing is affected by road conditions.

Parking lots managed by the university will open at noon in response to colder temperatures forecasted for Sunday. Doors to Colonial Life Arena will open at their usual time of 2 p.m., while Fast Break Pass holders can enter starting at 1:30 p.m.

Concession stands inside the arena are set to operate; however, availability may depend on whether vendors are able to staff them given possible adverse weather or travel issues.
