South Carolina Track & Field began a split weekend of competition on Friday, with athletes participating in the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, South Carolina, and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, Massachusetts.

At the Tiger Paw Invitational, the men’s team recorded notable performances. Brandon Dennis secured his first victory of the season in the shot put with a throw of 17.28 meters (56-8.5). In the men’s 400 meters, Andrew Salvodon finished third overall with a personal best time of 45.44 seconds, moving into second place all-time in program history for that event. Both Salvodon and Wrice are among only four Gamecocks to run an indoor sub-46 second 400 meters. Additionally, Salvodon now holds third place on the NCAA leaderboard for this event, while Wrice is sixth.

The men’s distance runners competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Edouard Lecrivain ran 1:47.31 in the invitational section of the 800 meters to achieve the second fastest indoor time for that event in school history. Kaleb Burroughs improved his personal best in the mile with a time of 4:05.28.
