The South Carolina swimming and diving team completed the fifth day of competition at the 2026 SEC Championships, held at the Allen Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Pierre Largeron delivered a standout performance for the Gamecocks, placing sixth overall with a personal best time of 4:11.88. In the women’s 200 breaststroke finals, Delaney Franklin finished 12th with a time of 2:10.34, while Molly Yacoviello came in 20th at 2:11.66.
For the men’s team in the same event, Einar Agustsson secured 12th place (1:53.31), and Harvey Freeman took 15th (1:55.31). Dylan Scholes also competed, finishing 12th in her event with a time of 22.17.
In the women’s 500 freestyle final, Breckin Gormley led South Carolina by taking tenth place with a time of 4:39.72. Teammates Emma Reiser (12th, 4:41.36) and Nora Fluck (16th, 4:45.09) contributed to the team’s efforts in that event.
The women’s relay team—Kara West, Dylan Scholes, Taylor Grimley and Amy Riordan—recorded a time of 1:29.45. The men’s relay squad consisting of Bexon Harrison, Eldor Usmonov, Ryan Hufford and Quinn Buck finished ninth with a time of 1:18.72.
A total of nine Gamecocks advanced to evening finals sessions during day five.
Franklin qualified for the consolation final in the women’s 200 breaststroke after posting a prelims time of 2:10.59; Yacoviello earned a spot in the bonus final with her prelims swim of 2:12.26.
On the men’s side for that event, Agustsson (1:53.71) and Freeman (1:54.81) both made it into their respective consolation finals.
Scholes qualified for the consolation final in the women’s 50 freestyle after clocking a preliminary round time of 22.26 seconds.
Largeron reached the championship final in his event by recording a prelims mark of 4:13.70.
Reiser, Gormley and Fluck were set to compete in their own consolation final heats for South Carolina as well.
Charley Bayer qualified for—and ultimately placed sixth—in the men’s platform dive consolation final with a score of 292.45.
After five days of competition at SEC Championships:
In women’s team standings:
– Texas leads with 1003.5 points.
– Tennessee is second at 817.
– Florida follows closely at 804.5.
– South Carolina holds fourth place with 543.5 points.
Other teams include LSU (533.5), Alabama (532.5), Georgia (504), Auburn (499.5), Texas A&M (424), Missouri (344), Arkansas (245), Kentucky (201) and Vanderbilt (118).
On men’s standings:
– Texas is first at 1110.5 points.
– Florida stands second with 1056.
– Tennessee sits third on 840.5.
South Carolina ranks eleventh among men’s teams with 308 points; other schools include Auburn (595), Georgia (554), LSU (525), Alabama (505.5), Kentucky (487), Texas A&M (391.5) and Missouri (347).
