The South Carolina softball team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, as announced on May 10. The Gamecocks will compete in the Los Angeles Regional and are set to play Cal State Fullerton on Friday, May 15, at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time on ESPN+. Host UCLA will play Cal Baptist later that evening.

This selection marks the Gamecocks’ 26th appearance in the NCAA tournament and their second under head coach Ashley Chastain Woodard. The regional games represent an important opportunity for South Carolina as they look to advance further in postseason play.

South Carolina and Cal State Fullerton last met on February 15, 2003, with the Titans having won all five previous matchups between the teams. Four of those meetings took place between 1983 and 1987. The Gamecocks also have a history with UCLA, having played earlier this season at the Mary Nutter Classic and last year during the NCAA Super Regionals; UCLA leads their all-time series with South Carolina by a margin of fifteen wins to two. This will be South Carolina’s first-ever meeting against Cal Baptist.

Complete game times and television designations for all regional contests will be announced at a later date.
