Twelve athletes from the South Carolina Gamecocks track and field team have been named to the All-SEC teams following their performances at the 2026 SEC Indoor Track & Field Championships. The conference office announced the selections, which are based on medal finishes: gold for First Team, silver for Second Team, and bronze for Third Team.
Nine Gamecocks received First Team All-SEC honors. Eight of these were members of the distance medley relay (DMR) squads. On the women’s side, Eline Mast, Akala Garrett, Sylvia Chelangat, and Salma Elbadra made history by becoming the first South Carolina women’s DMR team to win an SEC Indoor Championship gold medal. Their time of 10:45.64 set a program record and is currently ranked sixth in the NCAA this season.
Elbadra also achieved an individual milestone by winning the women’s mile with a time of 4:30.72, marking the program’s first gold medal in that event.
For the men’s DMR team, Edouard Lecrivain, Andrew Salvodon, Kaleb Burroughs, and Jaouad Khchina earned First Team recognition after winning gold with a time of 9:30.08—the second fastest in school history. This marks the second time in three years that a Gamecock men’s DMR squad has won this title at the SEC Indoor Championship. Individually, Khchina also secured third place in the men’s mile with a time of 4:02.99.
Jathiyah Muhammad was another standout performer for South Carolina. The pole vaulter became the first female athlete from South Carolina to win an SEC women’s pole vault title since 1999 by clearing 4.40 meters (14-5.25).
Three additional Gamecock women—Zaya Akins, JaMeesia Ford, and Cynteria James—were named to the Second Team All-SEC for their performance in the 4×400 meter relay alongside Akala Garrett. Their runner-up finish came with a time of 3:26.85, which is now second fastest in school history. Ford also finished second individually in the 200m final with a time of 22.61.
The full list of honorees reflects both individual achievements and strong relay performances throughout this indoor season.
