South Carolina Gamecocks to host Presbyterian in Tuesday night baseball game

The South Carolina Gamecocks will continue their nine-game homestand by facing Presbyterian on April 21 at Founders Park, with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The game will be available via streaming on SEC Network Plus and broadcast on the Gamecock Sports Network presented by Learfield.

This matchup is part of a series where South Carolina holds a historical advantage over Presbyterian, with a record of 51-21. Last year, the Gamecocks defeated Presbyterian 11-1 in Columbia.

Tuesday’s probable starting pitchers are freshman left-hander Patrick Dudley for South Carolina and freshman left-hander Tucker Meredith for Presbyterian. Dudley has pitched 6.1 innings this season without allowing an earned run, while Meredith has an earned run average of 10.38 over 8.2 innings.

Presbyterian enters the contest after winning one out of three games against Longwood last weekend. Tyrell Williams leads their pitching staff with 39 strikeouts in 49 innings, and Bo Moody leads offensively with a .328 batting average. Amman Dewberry has contributed seven home runs and thirty-one runs batted in this season.

Recent highlights for South Carolina include Ethan Lizama hitting his first home run as a Gamecock against Mississippi State on April 17 and Alex Philpott pitching four scoreless innings against Mississippi State on April 19. Junior Amp Phillips was named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week on April 13 after striking out ten batters in eight-plus innings during a win over Missouri.

Following Tuesday’s game, the Gamecocks will host Kentucky for a three-game series at Founders Park beginning Friday.
