Senator Tim Scott, a U.S. Senator from South Carolina, marked Gold Star Spouses Day and Easter Sunday with messages of support and encouragement for military families, Christians, and the Lander University men’s basketball team on April 5, 2026.
In a post honoring military families, Scott stated: “On Gold Star Spouses Day, we honor the strength and sacrifice of the spouses of U.S. military service members who gave their lives in the line of duty. We remember, honor, and stand with you today and every day.” (April 5, 2026)
Later that day, he shared an Easter message: “The good news of Easter for the entire world is this: Jesus has overcome death itself. Because He lives, we have true hope. Happy Easter!” (April 5, 2026)
Recognizing athletic achievement in his home state, Scott also congratulated Lander University’s men’s basketball team for reaching a milestone: “.@Lander_MBB made the program’s first trip to the @NCAA DII Men’s Championship game – a historic achievement. Senator Scott was raised in North Charleston by a single parent and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Charleston Southern University according to his official website. His public service career includes roles on the Charleston County Council as well as in both chambers of South Carolina’s legislature before joining Congress. Through his office he provides constituent services to residents across South Carolina.
