Senator Tim Scott, U.S. Senator from South Carolina, addressed a range of topics in a series of posts on April 30, 2026, including breast cancer advocacy, federal funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and support for small businesses in Charleston.

In his first post of the day, Scott highlighted efforts by local advocates: “Wonderful to hear from the @SusanGKomen SC Advocates and their efforts to assist women with breast cancer treatment access, preventative research, and overall care. Thank you for all you do to support women’s health across South Carolina!” (April 30, 2026).

Later that afternoon, he commented on legislative developments related to DHS funding: “After 76 days of Democrat obstruction, funding for DHS has finally been sent to President Trump’s desk for his signature. Thank you to Secret Service, TSA, Coast Guard, FEMA, and CISA personnel for your service while Democrats played politics with your livelihoods and America’s” (April 30, 2026).

In the evening, Scott recognized a local business leader during a Senate committee meeting: “It was my honor to introduce my friend, Catherine Dority, to the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. As VP of Marketing for @ExploreCHS, Cat represents the hardworking individuals who power Charleston’s small businesses and uphold our rich history!” (April 30, 2026).

Scott grew up in a single-parent household in North Charleston and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Charleston Southern University (official website). His public service includes positions on the Charleston County Council as well as in both chambers of the South Carolina legislature and U.S. House of Representatives (official website).
