Senator Tim Scott highlighted the importance of South Carolina in the nation’s defense and announced the passage of his provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter). Scott, a U.S. Senator representing South Carolina, also engaged with constituents by answering their questions on social media.
On October 10, 2025, Scott wrote, “South Carolina is integral to our nation’s defense and military readiness. I’m pleased the Senate just passed my provisions in the NDAA that equip our servicemembers with the resources, training, and support necessary to execute their duties with excellence.” In a separate post on the same day, Scott shared a link with the caption, “https://t.co/OOEBSZZgVY”.
Later that day, he continued his outreach with another message: “Your questions – answered and #PoweredBySweetTea. https://t.co/PmPZ6I1uxS” (October 10, 2025).
The NDAA is an annual piece of legislation that outlines the budget and expenditures for the U.S. Department of Defense. South Carolina hosts several major military installations, including Joint Base Charleston and Fort Jackson, which play significant roles in training and supporting U.S. armed forces.
