Senator Tim Scott, who represents South Carolina in the U.S. Senate, posted a series of messages on May 7, 2026, addressing topics including faith, small businesses, and support for modern workers.

In his first post of the day, Scott marked a national observance: “Today is National Day of Prayer, and my prayer for our nation is that in response to Philippians 1:6, we too would remain faithful to Him so that the good work He has begun in us may come to full manifestation.” (May 7, 2026).

Later that afternoon, he acknowledged the contributions of local enterprises during Small Business Week: “South Carolina’s small businesses keep economies thriving and neighbors connected, creating opportunity and strengthening communities. This week, we celebrate the owners and employees who make it happen! #SmallBusinessWeek” (May 7, 2026).

That evening, Scott highlighted efforts to update labor laws for independent workers: “From rideshare drivers to freelancers, more South Carolinians are embracing the freedom and flexibility of the modern economy. That’s why I introduced the Modern Worker Empowerment Act: to modernize labor laws, support independent workers, and make sure Washington doesn’t stand” (May 7, 2026).

Scott was raised in North Charleston by a single parent and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Charleston Southern University according to his official website. Before serving in the U.S. Senate representing South Carolina residents—including offering constituent services—he held roles on the Charleston County Council as well as in both chambers of state government and Congress.
