In the midst of the cold and flu season, Richland County is offering residents a chance to learn about health and wellness services available throughout the County.
As part of its SPEED (Sustainability, Planning, Education, Engagement, Development) initiative, the County’s Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIP) will partner with Prisma Health to host “Promoting Community Health Resources” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 in the County Council Chambers, located in the Richland County Administration Building, 2020 Hampton St.
A community health representative from Prisma Health will be available to speak about their health and wellness services, which include free community flu shot campaigns, health screenings, mobile health clinics, school-based telehealth services and more.
“Especially in times like these, we would like the community to be aware and take advantage of resources that protect and improve the health of each individual, as well as their neighborhood as a whole,” said Marc Ridlehoover, Richland County neighborhood planner.
Residents are encouraged to join the informational session, which is expected to last about 30 minutes and will be followed immediately by the regularly scheduled meeting of the Richland County Neighborhood Council.
Launched in 2020, SPEED is a yearlong program featuring events geared toward training and engaging the community.
