Eline Mast named SEC Women’s Runner of the Week after strong performance

South Carolina’s Eline Mast has been recognized as the SEC Women’s Runner of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office on Tuesday.

During her final home appearance at the USC Invite, Mast won both the women’s mile and 800-meter races. She recorded a time of 4:47.08 in the mile, which places her seventh on South Carolina’s all-time list for that event. In the 800 meters, she set a personal record with a time of 2:09.13, moving into tenth place in program history.

Mast and her teammates are preparing for the upcoming SEC Indoor Championship in College Station, Texas. The conference meet is scheduled to start Thursday, February 26 and will run through Saturday, February 28 at Fasken Indoor Track & Field.
