Public beach will remain open through Labor Day

Dominion Energy will open its public parks on the Irmo and Lexington sides of the Lake Murray dam for the 2022 recreation season beginning Wednesday, Apr. 13.

The beach and recreation area on the Lexington side will remain open for the season through Labor Day, Sept. 5.

“Many people look forward to visiting Lake Murray every summer to enjoy this beautiful recreational site in the Midlands of South Carolina,” said Billy Chastain, manager of Lake Management for Dominion Energy South Carolina. “We urge everyone to put safety first — be careful while swimming in the lake and follow boating safety rules.”

Parking fees will be $5 for all vehicles to partially offset the cost of maintenance, security and improvements at the parks. Season passes can be purchased for $50 per vehicle. These fees will be collected from April 13 through Labor Day.
